Note
Successive hand-picked selections of over-matured grapes (botrytised) from the exceptional Chaume terroir produce this elegant, mellow, well-balanced wine with complex aromas and a fresh finish. Beautifully woven around notes of acacia flower, honey and candied fruit, this sweet wine imposes its balance and deliciousness.
Winery
Domaine de La Roche Moreau in St Aubin has been farmed by the same family of winegrowers, from father to son, for five generations. This 28-hectare estate is located on the Anjou ledge between the Loire and Layon valleys. The old wine storehouse, dating back to the 17th century, is listed as a historic site. The cellar is housed in a disused coal mine, providing the perfect environment for aging wines.
During the 1940s, parts of the walls in front of the cellar were knocked down to conceal the entrance from the Germans. As a result, there are still a few bottles from before those years, serving as a testament to the estate's history.
