Note
This wine exhibits a vivid and deep garnet color with slow, graceful tears, a testament to its exceptional vintage. The nose reveals noble aromas of kirsch, blackcurrant, raspberry, Saint-Émilion spiced bread, cigar, and vanilla, offering a tantalizing glimpse of what's to come. The palate is both ample and luxurious, with a well-blended and harmonious array of flavors including black cherry liqueur, sweet blackcurrant, cocoa, cedar, and vanilla. The texture is full-bodied, with silky tannins that accompany a lengthy and resonant finish, leaving a memorable impression. A generous Saint-Émilion Grand Cru from an outstanding vintage, deserving of inclusion among the Classified Growths of the region. It has been awarded a well-deserved gold medal in Bordeaux.
Winery
The Valade family has been established in the Bordeaux region since 1878. Their son, Cédric, at the age of 27, took charge of the 5.85-hectare estate that he purchased with his parents in 2007. Cédric, an engineer trained at Purpan, also manages the family's other estate, Château Brisson, spanning 30 hectares in the Côtes de Castillon. There is no time to be idle, especially as they are currently building a new winery for the 2015 harvest. Seven years ago, the vineyard underwent restructuring, implementing stricter pruning, high trellising, and grass cover, with the aim of producing less but better quality grapes. And their efforts paid off!
